The method
How we know it’s cheap.

We watch the route.
Every day we check what it costs to fly Berlin to Istanbul, for each month ahead, and keep the lowest fare we see for every month.

We find its usual price.
The median of those monthly lows becomes the route’s usual price: $190. It is a deliberately low line, built from real fares — never from a “was” price nobody paid.

We measure today’s fare against it.
$111 is 42% below this route’s usual price. When a route has fewer than four months of history, we show the fare and make no comparison at all.

Only then does it earn a word.
Good at 20%, Great at 30%, Rare at 40%, Exceptional at 55%. Most fares earn none, which is the point: a label that fits everything means nothing.

Where the prices come from.
The board runs on cached fares from real flight searches, gathered across airlines and online travel agencies. Each one carries the time it was found, its travel dates and a link to check the current price.
Cached means recently seen, not reserved. Opening the booking site prices the trip again against the seats on sale, so the board can watch thousands of routes while the airline or agency stays the final word on price and availability. The board was last refreshed 17 Oct 2026, 09:38 UTC.
Usual price and labels
Every route against its own history.
For each of the 3,738 routes we keep the cheapest fare seen for every month ahead. Once at least four months are known, their median becomes the route’s usual price, and a fare’s drop is measured against it.
1,689 routes have enough history today. On 1,676 of them today’s fare is below that usual price: those are the measured fares, the only ones any percentage on this site comes from. That share is high by construction, not by luck: the board keeps each route's cheapest cached fare, and a route's cheapest fare usually sits under the median of its monthly lows. What the percentage tells you is how far under. On the other 13 it is at or above it, so the card makes no claim. The remaining 2,049 routes show their fare with no percentage until more months come in.
A word is earned at a fixed depth, and it stays scarce: right now 44.2% of measured fares clear Good, 11.3% clear Rare and 2.6% clear Exceptional. The score is a rank, not a formula: 90/100 on the fare above means 90% of the measured fares on the board have a smaller drop, which anyone can reproduce from the published data.
Every fare is ranked by the same two things: how far it sits below its route’s usual price, and how recently it was seen.
Calendars
A calendar shows the evidence, gaps included.
Day prices are the trail left by recent searches. A blank date means no search has priced that day lately — not that the flight is full or expensive. The median route holds 4 priced days over the next four months, about 4% of them.
Prices spread almost evenly across the week (12.4% to 16.4% on any one weekday), so a blank reads as missing evidence rather than a schedule. Each of the 3,946 route pages (the 3,738 with an observed fare and the ones resting without one) shows the calendar its evidence supports:

Business model
How flight.deals makes money.
When you continue to a booking or toolkit partner, that partner may pay flight.deals a commission. The booking happens on the partner’s site, which handles the itinerary, the final price and the payment.
Fares are ordered by their measured drop and how recently they were seen. Every partner that may pay us is listed in the affiliate disclosure.
